I’m a System Engineer from Argentina, and I love Quality.
When I was in my last year of college, I had the subject Quality, and started to get interested on it. Then, I joined a software development company and being part of the team responsible for implementing CMM Level 2, I set my commitment and developed passion for quality.
During the CMM implementation, the quality team had the responsibilities to:
The hardest part of that process was to help software engineers understand the importance of implementing processes with the main objective: fulfill and exceed customer expectations.
For that reason, my goal from now on is: to help people understand that quality is everyone’s responsibility — thanks Mr Deming for that truth – and that quality is in our day-to-day routine: the way we communicate and behave, the way we are socially responsible, the way we plan our goals for the future, and the way we act to improve every day.
In 2006 I came to live to the US and, to keep improving and growing as a professional, I got my certification as Quality Process Analyst and in Lean Enterprise .
Now, I’m a stay-at-home mom and everything that I’ve learned I implement at home:
– my husband and I do brainstorming to decide what to do during the weekend;
– we use Ishikawa diagram to analyze cause and effect of a problem we have;
- everything that do not add value to our life is waste;
- 5S tool is my best friends and let me tell you that we 2 men at home, the most difficult S is sustain;
- I apply the concepts of JIT and Kanban to order milk and diapers just when I have in my inventory the last box of milk/diapers.
Everything is a continuous improvement, trying to correct the causes of non-conformities and prevent the undesirable situations in order to be a family as happy as possible.
Now days, I’m writing a blog about academic quality concepts trying to help everyone who wants to start walking this amazing journey.
