Which Social Networks Do Quality Professionals Use? This is the question ASQ’s CEO Paul Borawski asked in his blog this month, to discuss with the quality community.
When I started to think about networking in the quality community, I opened a BLOG account right away. After years of learning about quality stuff and solved questions I had, I decided to share my ideas and thoughts with the community and blogging was an easy and free way to do it. What I’ve never believed it is in the real power of networking until I reached people from all around the world, reading my blog, sharing their thoughts, asking question, teaching me a lot of new stuff and different insights, making myself learning in an exponential way keeping me up to date with everything related to quality, and of course reaffirm that what I’m passionate about it, it is something that a lot of people are passionate about as well!
The social networks I use the most and the ones that opened me amazing doors, like being part of the Influential Voices, are: LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and ASQ Community.
The most important advantage I found out using Twitter and Google+ is I can reach people from all over the world that they are not connected directly to me, but they are able to read my posts and start a connection from there. LinkedIn and ASQ Community helps me to share my thoughts in a more professional way, with groups of professionals interested in specific subjects; but the most interesting thing is that I can connect with people with all different levels of knowledge and positions, making myself an endless learner. Unbelievable!
Well, I only have my personal account and I think that people who follow me on my blog or read my posts from any of the other social networks I mentioned before, do not need to become my friend on Facebook, where the focus of using that social network, for me, it is to share family pictures with my friends. And also, I personally don’t like to receive the same information from the same person from different social networks. But of course, what is best for me it could be different for you.
The most important thing is that, no matter how you build your community, or which social network you use, all these interactions are getting rid of the physical distance between people from all over the world, making the interactions fast and effective, and ALWAYS ALWAYS are going to create value on your professional life… Continuous Improvements!
Now, What are the social networks that best work for you? What is for you the best way to create a quality community? If you are still doubting on starting or not a blog, I totally encourage you to go for it; you will no believe what the world has for you!
And to finish, of course, you are more than welcome to connect socially with me:
